Peter Hart Biography

Born 10 January 1955. Family from Weardale in North-East. Lived at Stanhope, 1955-1962; Barton under Needwood, 1962-1964 and Stone, 1964-1967.

Moved to Chesterfield and attended School, 1967-1973 and Liverpool University, 1973-1976. Then did post-grad teaching course at Crewe & Alsager College, 1976-1977 and finally post-grad librarianship at Liverpool Polytechnic, 1979-1980. Worked as oral historian at Sound Archive of Imperial War Museum, 1981-2008.

Married to Polly Napper with two little ‘smashers’: Lily and Ruby Hart.
