The Great War shaped the society in which we live but few now understand its background. The origins of the war, the problems of fighting on the Western Front, the terrible horrors of the Somme and Passchendaele are now either forgotten or misunderstood. This was a total war with the fighting moving underwater and into the skies for the first time. The slaughter was incredible and conflicts still rage today which have their origins in 1914-1918. in a series of lectures and discussions, we try to shed some light on key aspects of this world-shattering event.
